Coronavirus: Cases in Bangladesh Police stand at 5,916

A total of 5,916 members of Bangladesh Police have so far been infected with coronavirus in the country. Of them, 2,419 have made full recovery while 16 died as of Friday morning, said sources at the Police Headquarters. Of the infected policemen, 1,660 were from Dhaka Metropolitan Police alone. Currently, 1,942 of the infected police personnel were in isolation while 5,899 in quarantine.
Most of the recovered policemen have joined their respective duty stations after recovery. With the constant efforts and directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed, the recovery rate of infection cops is satisfactory, said Sohel Rana, additional inspector general (AIG) (media) of Police headquarters. Bangladesh has so far reported 60,391 coronavirus cases and 811 deaths.
