Bangladesh Police loses fifth officer to Covid-19

Another policeman died from coronavirus on Saturday morning, raising the death toll of Bangladeshi policemen to five. Sultanul Arefin, 44, Sub Inspector of Public Order Management of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (west division), breathed his last at Rajarbag Central Police Lines Hospital at 6:53am.

He left behind his wife, two daughters and one son to mourn his death. Confirming the death to Jago News, Hasan Ul Haider, Superintendent of the hospital, said: “Arefin admitted to the hospital on April 30 after being infected with coronavirus. He was also suffering from breathing problem.

Md Sohel Rana, Assistant Inspector General of Police Headquarters (media), said: “Arefin’s body has been sent to his home district in Jamalpur. He will be buried at his family graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza in presence of top police officials of the district.
