Shutdown to be eased gradually: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said everything will be opened gradually easing the coronavirus shutdown considering the livelihoods of people. Besides, he said the isolation centers at Bashundhara Convention Centre and North City Corporation’s Market in the city’s Mohakhali area will be opened on May 4.
The minister made the remarks while visiting a specialised hospital for the treatment of corona patients at Bashundhara Convention Center on Wednesday. He said initially 2,013 beds have been prepared at the hospital where those of the corona identified patients need isolation will be kept.
Besides, the work on preparing ICU beds at the hospital is also in progress. The health minister said they are going to recruit more doctors and nurses to deal with the coronavirus situation.
