Journalist Humayun Kabir Khokon dies

City editor of Daily Shomoyer Alo and senior member of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Humayun Kabir Khokon has died (Inna lillahi wa inna illahi rajiun). He died on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Regent Hospital in Capital’s Uttara. He was suffering from respiratory disease.

His sister Sapna confirmed the news and said Bhaiya (brother) was admitted to the Regent Hospital in critical condition in the afternoon. He died at 10 pm later.

Habibur Rahman, organizing secretary of DRU and senior reporter for Somoyer Alo, said Humayun Kabir Khokon had some symptoms of coronavirus. However, has not been tested yet.

Humayun Kabir Khokon, the president of the Greater Cumilla Journalists’ Association, has worked with a good reputation in various newspapers including Manabjamin, Amader Somoy and Daily Shomoyer Alo.
