12 allowed for Isha-Taraweeh prayers at mosque

The government has urged people to offer their daily prayers including Taraweeh of Ramadan at homes instead of mosques to help contain the spread of coronavirus disease. State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah said twelve devotees including two Hafiz would be allowed for Esha-Taraweeh prayers at mosque during the month of Ramadan. The ministry’s public relations officer Md Anwar Hossain said this quoting the minister Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah.

Earlier on April 6, the Ministry directed to keep limited the participation of the devotees in Jummah at 10 and five-time regular prayers at 5. Only 5 persons including imam, muazzin, khatib, khadim can offer daily prayers at mosques while 5 more can join Jummah prayer, the ministry added. The ministry also asked other religious believers not to congregate at any place to perform religious rituals rather they were asked to say prayers at home.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Thursday (April 23) confirmed total 127 deaths from coronavirus disease. Besides, 414 more people have tested positive, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh to 4,186, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
